本系统的开发建构一种既能发挥教师的指导作用又能充分体现学生学习主体作用的新型智能教学结构。在此基础上逐步实现教学模式、教学内容、教学手段和教学方法的全面改革。之所以要把教学结构作为教改的主要目标，是因为教学结构是指在一定的教育思想、教学理论和学习理论指导下的在一定环境中展开的教学活动进程的稳定结构形式，是教学系统四个组成要素（教师、学生、教材和教学媒体）相互联系、相互作用的具体体现。通过网上进行授课，以学生为中心，不受时间、地点、次数及进度的限制，能自由利用网上资源等优点，成为教育方式的发展新趋势、教育也随之进入智能网络教育的新时代。近年来，有较多的高校都将电教中心与网络中心合并为现代教育技术中心，这种合并也说明了在高校中，充分发展现代的智能网络辅助教育成为高校的发展与进步的新需要。
